A rare ophthalmic condition characterized by formation of excessive scar tissue between the conjunctiva/Tenon capsule and the sclera at the surgical site following glaucoma filtration surgery. Scarring can occur months or years after surgery, resulting in treatment failure with poor postoperative control of intraocular pressure and, potentially, loss of vision. |

A rare form of scleritis characterised by tender or painful, violet-blueish eye, with oedema and injection of deep scleral vessels, in the absence of infection or systemic autoimmune diseases. The disease may be unilateral or bilateral. Other ocular signs depend on the localisation (anterior or posterior) and on the type of scleritis (diffuse, nodular or necrotising). Extension to other layers of the eye and to peri-ocular tissues as well as visual impairment are potential complications. Idiopathic scleritis is more frequent in children than in adults. |

A rare scleritis characterized by severe ocular inflammation of sclera associated with an underlying systemic inflammatory condition, most often rheumatoid arthritis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, but also seronegative spondyloarthropathies, vasculitides and systemic lupus erythematosus. Ocular presentation is a tender or painful, violet-blueish eye, with injection of deep scleral vessels. It can be unilateral or bilateral. Immune-mediated scleritis is more often granulomatous and/or necrotizing. Systemic clinical signs depend on the underlying disease. |
