Extragonadal teratoma is an extremely rare, benign or malignant germ cell tumor characterized, clinically, by a teratoma presenting in an extragonadal location (e.g. retroperitoneum, mediastinum, craniofacial or sacrococcygeal region, intraosseous, solid organs) and, histologically, by displaying well-differentiated structures, as well as immature elements. Presenting symptoms are variable depending on size and location of tumor. Associated morphology False Teratoma - category Inferred relationship Some 1
A rare neoplastic disease with the presence of a testicular neoplasm composed of several, well-differentiated or immature, tissues derived from one or more of the 3 germinal layers. Patients typically present unilateral (occasionally bilateral) painless testicular swelling or a palpable testicular nodule/mass. Associated morphology False Teratoma - category Inferred relationship Some 1
A very rare and life threatening intraoral teratoma, usually arising from the maxilla, mandible, palate or base of skull and invading the cranium, nasopharynx or oral cavity. Epignathus is more commonly seen in females, and presents with various manifestations including dyspnoea, cyanosis, cough, difficulty in sucking and swallowing, and rarely vomiting (due to swallowing difficulties). When large, they can lead to airway obstruction, asphyxia and death in the neonatal period. Associated morphology False Teratoma - category Inferred relationship Some 1
